About the Role
As a Digital Accessibility Engineer, you will:
- Perform accessibility evaluations of web applications and digital services
- Document findings and provide actionable recommendations for remediation
- Review design, code, and content for accessibility compliance in partnership with product, design, and engineering teams
- Implement accessibility testing methodologies and contribute to automation where possible
- Test applications using assistive technologies such as screen readers (VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA)
- Write accessible code solutions using standard web technologies
- Contribute to accessibility standards, training, and tooling across teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups throughout the entire project lifecycle
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and client-side frameworks)
- Understanding of WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI-ARIA standards
- Experience implementing accessibility testing methodologies
- First-hand experience testing with assistive technologies (e.g., VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA)
- Ability to write accessible code solutions using web technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on web accessibility
- Ability to independently learn and adapt to new technologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Demonstrated experience building strong cross-functional relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects in dynamic environments
