About the Role
As a Web Accessibility Engineer, you will:
- Conduct accessibility evaluations of web applications and provide actionable recommendations
- Partner with design, product, and engineering teams to review designs, code, and content for accessibility compliance
- Deliver remediation efforts using established technical methodologies for accessibility testing
- Test applications using assistive technologies such as screen readers (VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA)
- Contribute to developing accessibility standards, training, and internal tooling
- Document findings and communicate accessibility improvements clearly across teams
- Support accessibility throughout the project lifecycle by advising and consulting with cross-functional stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and client-side frameworks)
- Understanding of WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI-ARIA standards
- Experience implementing accessibility testing methodologies
- Hands-on experience testing with assistive technologies (e.g., VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA)
- Experience writing accessible code solutions using web technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on web accessibility
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Demonstrated experience building strong cross-functional relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in dynamic environments
